Most people of faith place a lot of importance on their faith and the role that it plays in their lives. Their day to day decisions are dictated by the will of God and His plans for their lives. Their Christian faiith is a very important part of their day to day live and helps them make decisions about every aspect of their life, especially when it comes to dating.
Most evengelical Christians and those that are considered “blood bought” have strict rules of marrying outside their faith. Choosing someone to date or marry that is not Christian is not even an option for most. It is very important to them to have a spouse that is of the same religious background as themselves.
People of the Christian faith are not alone when it comes to matters of the heart. They want to find love just like everyone else does. Often, Christians are now flocking to the internet to find love, to social and dating sites that are everywhere. These websites are an excellent place to meet likeminded people and possibly find the love of the person’s life. It no longer has the stigma that was once associated with finding love online. The days of people thinking it is “wierd” or “desparate” are about over.
So you have done a search and found the perfect Christian website, whether it be a dating or social media website. You signed up and think you are in the clear, well, not so fast, you still have some research to do. Just because you are on a website with supposedly like minded people does not mean there are not wolves in sheep’s clothing. You always need to keep your guard up and still be suspicious of people, just as if you were in the offline world.
Do not make the mistake of giving your trust to just anyone you meet on the internet, even if it is a dating site geared towards the Christian faith. Have you done your research on the person you are interested in or the site itself? It would probably pay dividends if you did both. As you probably already know, many people will say anything to get their way. If they wanted their way with you, many will lie about being Christian thinking that you are more vulnerable and trusting than most. It is during this time that you need to be the opposite.
It is a good posibility that you will find love on the dating site that you have chosen to sign up with. Just becuase you have heard everything you wanted to hear does not mean that you should throw caution out the window. This is where you need to further your research. Visit one of your favorite background search sites and start your initial research. Keep an eye on everything they say and ask a lot of questions. Just because you found them on a Christian dating site does not mean that you are not taking a risk. Stay in God’s will and you will do just fine.
